New goal, same as the old goal!
Now that I’m getting back on track, finally, and have some real confidence that I now have the right tools to achieve my weight loss goals (exercise + diabetic friendly diet!) – it’s time to give myself a clear goal to shoot for. Given my current weight of 246.9lbs (111.9kg) I find myself exactly 66.9lbs…

Coping with Diabetes, Fatigue, and a Major House Move
It’s been a while since my last blog post, and there are a couple of reasons for my absence. First and foremost, I haven’t made much progress to report. In fact, things have taken a turn for the worse. After an initial success with weight loss, I hit a plateau. Despite maintaining my exercise routine,…

Broke my plateau and hopefully getting back on track!
For the last few weeks, my weight has been stuck in a bit of a plateau – I’ve lost a few lbs here and there, then put them back on, then a bit more. There are all kinds of potential explanations for this – one is that I’ve put on muscle mass due to the…

I hit a bit of a plateau but still making good progress
I haven’t posted in a while because there’s been little movement weight-wise. Obviously, whenever you lose weight quite quickly your body can take some time to adjust. I definitely had a bit of a slow down in terms of exercise as well which must have been a factor, and also wasn’t fasting much at all…

Some new weight loss milestones!!
I weighed in again yesterday to find I’m now down to 18 St 7.9 lbs (259.9 lbs / 118.1 kgs). So that means I’m now under 260 lbs! Also means I’m under 120 kgs! And I’ve now lost in total 9.9lbs (4.5 kgs) sooooo close to my first 10lbs, and almost 1/5 of the way…

7.1 lbs down in 4 weeks!
I have been reasonably consistent with 18-20hr fasts each day, and keeping my calorie intake well under my daily target, as well as getting more exercise – so I had another cheeky mid-week weigh-in to see how I’m doing. I’m currently 18 stone 10.7 lbs (262.7 lbs / 119.41kgs). That’s 7.1 lbs (3.2kg) down already…

Another 2lbs down this week! 6.3lbs in 4 weeks!
I’ve mostly been fasting 16-18hrs per day and also using MyFitnessPal to track daily calories, sugar and salt, and the results speak for themselves. I just weighed in this morning and am now at 18 stone 11.5 lbs (263.5 lbs / 120.36 kgs)! That’s a total weight loss this week of 2 lbs, taking me…

Nearly 5lbs lost in total
OK – so if you read my last post you’ll see I had 10 days almost where I really wasn’t thinking about my weight, and my blood pressure was so high I was frankly nervous about exercising. I’d had a work colleague who had a stroke while running a marathon and didn’t want to take…

The scales do lie
Relying on your scales as a measure of progress is problematic – your body weight will fluctuate naturally from day to day but even from hour to hour based on what you’re drinking and eliminating, whether you’re exercising or being sedentary. Certainly weighing in more often than once or twice weekly is never going to…

Diminishing returns – time to calm down!
OK, so a diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) is never going to be great, and with a correlation between T2D and Pancreatic Cancer (PC) which killed my dad, it’s no surprise that I’ve panicked. The advice from Diabetes UK to lose 15kgs of weight as this may reverse T2D hasn’t helped and literally in…
