So I had my bi-annual diabetic check up last week, which included all the usual tests, but the most important being the Hb1Ac. The results weren’t great, but just confirmed what I’d already figured out from my recent wake-up call.
My blood sugar came in at 79mmol/mol, a significant increase over my previous result 6 months ago, which was 58mmol/mol. What that means is my blood is basically overrun with sugar, and probably the consistency of molasses! LOL.
I need to get this down to under 48Mmol/mol, and fast! Funnily enough that’s exactly what I’m going to be doing – of course today is New Year’s Eve – Happy New Year to you all! And I will be having my last unhealthy eating day today for at least a couple of months – but after I finish celebrating tonight I will indeed be fasting – for 36 hours!
According to my planning spreadsheet, if I stay on target with my weight loss goals, I should hit around 223lbs (101.5kgs) by my birthday in February, which will take me to just under 16 stone – so that is a major milestone to aim for, and something to celebrate!
And of course getting under 100kgs will follow shortly after, before the middle of March – and that will be another huge achievement.
Anyway – as you can see I’m unperturbed by my Hb1Ac result – as bad as it is I know that having already lost over 12lbs (5.4kgs) in a couple of weeks that I can reverse those results in no time at all.
