You’ll have to excuse the quiet period – I’ve been taking some time off from posting as I’m busy trying to deal with issues relating to my redundancy.
Probably not unrelated, I have naturally reached a bit of a plateau in terms of weight loss.
Normally when I take a break from posting it’s because I’ve “fallen off the wagon” – but that’s really not the case at all! I continue to eat very strict keto whole foods, and my exercise continues apace. I’m now back to swimming in my lake – 1.5km 3 times a week – taking advantage of the nicer weather, and also have been slowly but steadily pushing my running. I’m now up to 3.5 min run/1 min walk three times a week, and also continuing to add mobility exercises during the week and the occasional bike ride.
It might also be argued that since I’ve already hit my remission numbers, and my Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) estimated, based on my current habits, that my next HbA1c test should see me at 33 mol/mol (5.2%), which is getting very close to my target.
Since I have no other diabetic symptoms, the urgency has dropped considerably.
Of course, I still want to lose more weight, and my blood pressure is still on the high side, so I’m definitely not “done” – and I will be back to focus on next steps once I have my career issues back under control!
