Navigating Blood Pressure Peaks and Valleys

As I mentioned in my previous post, my blood pressure has been on a rollercoaster ride lately. Amid the chaos of impending relocation, I’ve seen those numbers fluctuating wildly.

Let’s take a peek at today’s readings (the top three, to be precise). The first reading this morning at 09:49 showed a modest elevation: 121/74. Essentially, the systolic reading of 121 nudged just one point above the normal range, tipping into the “elevated” zone, so really as close to normal as you can get!

Now, I confess—I haven’t been as diligent in measuring my blood pressure lately. Life’s other demands have kept me occupied. But if we rewind to last month, things were relatively stable—mostly hanging out in zone 1, with occasional excursions into zone 2.

However, if we time-travel back to May, my blood pressure was more consistently in zone 2. There was that one glorious week when it decided to play nice and gifted me two normal readings. But then it reverted to its old ways.

Those stage 2 readings had me concerned, naturally. Yet, my doctor—ever the voice of reason—assured me that fluctuations are par for the course, even with medication. So, I’ve learned not to lose sleep over those stubborn numbers.

Still, there’s a little victory dance in my heart when they decide to behave—like this week, when they settled into something resembling normalcy.

I’ll strive to blog my blood pressure results more regularly, alongside updates on the rest of my journey.
